Help make this happen! Help Take Us Back To Barsoom! We Want A John Carter Sequel!

An absolutely epic film. Action, fantasy, romance, swordplay, self sacrifice, heroism, aliens, beautiful but headstrong princess, cowboys and indians, and last but not least WOOLA!
this was a great movie, and everything a Burroughs fan could want! well, actually better press and marketing would have been a plus. and some merchandising, like a plush Woola. In fact, any support from Disney would have been appreciated.
Strange that Disney abandoned this film, as they have such a huge merchandising/marketing machine already in place to guarantee this movie was not only a blockbuster, but their next profitable franchise.
Did I say “strange”?
“Stupid” and “shortsighted” seems like a more appropriate words…
I agree… There is so much Potency in this film.
Wow if john carter is what made Star Wars, Superman, Avatar and sci fi fantasy in general there is no reason that this movie needed to flop. I am a new john carter fan and without discovering john carter I would not have appreciated sci fi fantasy at its finest thanks to this epic tale. The sequel has my approval to become a reality, FOR BARSOOM!
I read and loved the books as a child, and I love the movie today. The actors, the story, the effects, were all great, and Woola quite won my heart.
I have not seen the movie as I am in an area outside the USA. I will definietely buy the DVD when available. As the first three(3) books by ERB are a triliogy I would indeed love to see Disney make a sequel..
I only ask Disney to find a director who actually understands the essence of these books. It is obvious that anyone naming the movie John Carter rather then at least John Carter of Mars doesnot grasp the drawing card in the name Mars. These books were written almost 80 to 100 years ago depending on which book of the 11 in the series we are talking about. Regaining the publics interest may take sometime. Considering the fact that the sequel would start in the Vally Dor – it might knock the public socks off or a least knock them back to Barsoom.
I really liked the movie and love the books wanna see God’s of Mars.
Today i saw “John Carter of Mars” movie.
Actually i didn’t see the movie entirely.
I start watching it, in the scene when the “Bold guy” is going to stab the Carter’s Back in a Cave…
The movie is great….!!!
Especially when John was back to earth, and trying to found the “teleportation device”. i like the Complexity.
The Story line, Actors/Actress, SFX, Story Perspective, is awesome,
although it’ll be more Interesting if it’s more scientific on its detail. like in Avatar movie…
There is still remaining Fundamental Questions when i finish watching it.
such:
- How they can breath there? (As we know today, peoples believe there is unsuitable atmosphere for Living creatures in Mars/Barsoom).
- How they get Food, and Water there? (As i know, they only have 1 river there, No Forest, and the rest is desert and rocks. The water is to Scarce, and if that happen logically there is must be some dense residents or villages right in the sides of the river).
Perhaps in the sequel the barsoom should explained to be in the other universe… like in “Planet of the apes” Movie. The film is based on the novel. but slight differences on it’s detail will not make it look crappy… Just like in “I am Legend”.
ABOVE ALL, THE FILM IS AWESOME !!! I wonder why it is very hard to get. perhaps it’s the distribution management.
I am living in Indonesia.
Excellent film, epic adventure just love it! Just finished watching it again twice. Really hope they do a sequel, can’t wait.
